Integration

Making Meaning, Together

“Integration is a process in which a person revisits and actively engages in making sense of, working through, translating, and processing the content of their psychedelic experience. Through intentional effort and supportive practices, this process allows one to gradually capture and incorporate the emergent lessons and insights into their lives, thus moving toward greater balance and wholeness, both internally (mind, body, and spirit) and externally (lifestyle, social relations, and the natural world).” (1)

As psychedelics become more available and encounter psychedelics in casual, conscious, and therapeutic settings, Jews from all backgrounds, generations, and identities are seeking support in making meaning of their psychedelic experiences. Because of this great need, Shefa is dedicated to making integration a core pillar of our work. Whether people are looking to make sense of their experience through a particularly Jewish lens, ground them in Jewish wisdom and practice, help process Jewish-specific traumas, or simply connect with other Jews, Shefa provides resources and spaces to individuals and communities who are sincerely dedicated to this work.

When we engage with integration as a process and lifelong pursuit, we may also come to understand our Judaism in similar terms. Our sacred stories, our relationship to time, our spiritual practices, how we celebrate with and support others–these can all be imbued with the potential for preparing for - and achieving - expanded awareness, deepened by ongoing practice and a call to presence.

In this way, we can begin to view our psychedelic experiences as an authentic extension of our Jewish selves and a catalyst for greater growth and healing.

Join an Integration Circle

Our integration circles are powerful opportunities to give voice to our deepest felt experiences with expanded consciousness. Facilitated by our rabbinic integration team, these virtual two-hour, peer-oriented sessions allow Jews from all backgrounds, affiliations, and commitments to connect around their psychedelic experiences - be they transformative, challenging, healing, confusing, or sacred -  in a confidential and supportive setting.

In these circles, we commit to each others’ confidentiality, curiosity in others’ experience without giving advice, to taking and making space, and accepting and expecting non-closure.

We invite participants to consider making a donation on a sliding scale in the spirit of reciprocity. Your support ensures that Shefa is able to continue providing these offerings.  No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Private Integration Support

Private Integration Support with Rabbi Zac Kamenetz is currently on hold for the beginning of 2024.

Sometimes, we need focused attention to share more about ourselves, fully articulate our experiences, and explore more personalized pathways of integration support. Request a 20-minute, one-on-one integration session with Rabbi Zac Kamenetz to begin or continue your integration journey.

We ask you to consider making a donation on a sliding scale in the spirit of reciprocity. Your support ensures that Shefa is able to continue providing these offerings.  No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Participation is private and confidential.
