May 29, Session 2: The Way of the Prophets

June, 2, Session 3: From Prophecy to Practice

10-11:30 AM PT

Taught by Rabbi Ami Silver

The Mount Sinai narrative describes a collective mystical experience on a national scale. And yet, Torah itself is oftentimes experienced as a body of knowledge composed of stories and commandments rather than an encounter with Divine reality. In the weeks leading up to Shavuot, the holiday that commemorates the revelation at Mount Sinai, we will be exploring fundamental teachings on expanded consciousness and its central place within Torah and Jewish practice. Drawing from Biblical, Rabbinic, Kabbalistic and Hasidic traditions, this three-part series is an orientation toward the prophetic core of the Jewish tradition and the experiential dimension that lies at the heart of Jewish faith and practice.

The material covered in this course will be equally relevant to psychonauts, spiritual practitioners and all those interested in deepening their familiarity with Jewish consciousness teachings. The course is open to people of all backgrounds, and all sources will be provided in their original Hebrew together with English translation.
